I would like to know what size tubes you have available, and their pressure rating, I wish to use them as a view pressure vessel, approx 50 - 100ml volume. I would also like some additional information about the preferred method of sealing to 316L stainless steel end plates I need to manufacture. The pressure I am shooting for is approx 350BAR.
There are several methods for sealing, all of which have good and bad qualities.
- Organic sealing system such as one of our special two part of heat cured resins.
- Low temperature soldering using an activated solder
- High temperature brazing.
The sealing system choice depends on the maximum and minimum temperature, the chemicals and gasses the seal will be exposed to, and the materials to be sealed. FYI: Sapphire seals very well to Ti and Nb, OK to higher CTE metals like 17-4 and Monel, and very poorly to 300 series SS and aluminum because of the high CTE of these metals.
We believe that Sapphire will be a very good material for your aims. But for liability reasons we cannot design your system. We can seal your system by your design though, and even suggest what sealing system to use for your design.
